| 29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

| 30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 31 | 31 | | 1 Section 97D of chapter 41 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, |

| 32 | 32 | | 2is hereby amended by inserting after the second sentence the following sentence:- "If a police |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 3officer receives a request for such access from an advocate or counselor not specifically |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 4authorized by the victim to obtain such information, the police department shall make a |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 5reasonable attempt to notify the victim." |

| 36 | 36 | | 6 Said section 97D, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following |

| 38 | 38 | | 8 In this section, the term "police officer" shall mean a regular police officer or a special |
