28	28	An Act relative to surviving family members of public emergency medical technicians.
29	29	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
30	30	of the same, as follows:
31	31	1 SECTION 1. Section 100 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016
32	32	2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “death,” in line 15 the following
33	33	3words:-
34	34	4 or if a public emergency medical technician while in the performance of his duties and as
35	35	5the result of an assault on his person or as a result of an accident while responding to or returning
36	36	6from any emergency or as the result of an accident involving an EMS department vehicle, which
37	37	7the public emergency medical technician is operating or in which he is riding or while at the
38	38	8scene of any emergency is killed or sustains injuries while on duty which results in his death, 2 of 4
39	39	9 SECTION 2. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
40	40	10by striking out, in lines 16-17, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
41	41	11inserting in place thereof the following words:_
42	42	12 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
43	43	13 SECTION 3. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
44	44	14by striking out, in lines 18-19, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
45	45	15inserting in place thereof the following words:-
46	46	16 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
47	47	17 SECTION 4. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
48	48	18by striking out, in lines 22-23, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
49	49	19inserting in place thereof the following words:-
50	50	20 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
51	51	21 SECTION 5. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
52	52	22by striking out, in line 26, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
53	53	23inserting in place thereof the following words:-
54	54	24 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
55	55	25 SECTION 6. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
56	56	26by striking out, in lines 45-46, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
57	57	27inserting in place thereof the following words:-
58	58	28 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician 3 of 4
59	59	29 SECTION 7. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
60	60	30by striking out, in line 53, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
61	61	31inserting in place thereof the following words:-
62	62	32 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
63	63	33 SECTION 8. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
64	64	34by striking out, in line 67, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
65	65	35inserting in place thereof the following words:-
66	66	36 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
67	67	37 SECTION 9. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
68	68	38by striking out, in lines 75-76, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
69	69	39inserting in place thereof the following words:-
70	70	40 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
71	71	41 SECTION 10. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
72	72	42by striking out, in lines 79-80, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
73	73	43inserting in place thereof the following words:-
74	74	44 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician
75	75	45 SECTION 11. Section 100 of said chapter 32, as so appearing, is hereby further amended
76	76	46by striking out, in lines 88-89, the words “firefighter, police officer or corrections officer” and
77	77	47inserting in place thereof the following words:-
78	78	48 firefighter, police officer, corrections officer, or public emergency medical technician 4 of 4
79	79	49 SECTION 12. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
