2727 An Act relative to adjusting the senior circuit breaker.
2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2929 of the same, as follows:
3030 1 SECTION 1. Paragraph (1) of subsection (k) of section 6 of chapter 62 of the General
3131 2Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following
3232 3new definition:-
3333 4 “free Medicare Part A non-eligibility” – payments by individuals to obtain Medicare Part
3434 5A insurance due to non-eligibility for free Medicare Part A.
3535 6 SECTION 2. Paragraph (2) of subsection (k) of said section 6 of said chapter 62, as so
3636 7appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting, after the words “constituting real estate tax
3737 8payment” the following new words:- plus previous calendar year payment for Medicare Part A
3838 9resulting from free Medicare Part A non-eligibility. 2 of 2
3939 10 SECTION 3. Paragraph (3) of subsection (k) of said section 6 of chapter 62 of the
4040 11General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the
4141 12numbers “$600,000” the following words:- or the average value of a single family home in the
4242 13municipality as determined by the local Assessor for the previous fiscal year, whichever is
4343 14greater.
