legislation to adjust the senior circuit breaker property valuation.  Revenue.

An Act relative to adjusting the senior circuit breaker.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Paragraph (1) of subsection (k) of section 6 of chapter 62 of the General 
2Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following 
3new definition:-
4 “free Medicare Part A non-eligibility” – payments by individuals to obtain Medicare Part 
5A insurance due to non-eligibility for free Medicare Part A.
6 SECTION 2. Paragraph (2) of subsection (k) of said section 6 of said chapter 62, as so 
7appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting, after the words “constituting real estate tax 
8payment” the following new words:- plus previous calendar year payment for Medicare Part A 
9resulting from free Medicare Part A non-eligibility. 2 of 2
10 SECTION 3. Paragraph (3) of subsection (k) of said section 6 of chapter 62 of the 
11General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the 
12numbers “$600,000” the following words:- or the average value of a single family home in the 
13municipality as determined by the local Assessor for the previous fiscal year, whichever is 
14greater.
