An Act relative to fusion energy.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 11F of chapter 25A of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 
22020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the words “or (9) geothermal energy” in 
3line 44 and inserting in place thereof the following:- (9) geothermal energy; or (10) fusion 
4energy
5 SECTION 2. Said section 11F of chapter 25A, as so appearing, is hereby amended by 
6striking out the words “or (9) geothermal energy” in line 86 and inserting in place thereof the 
7following:- (9) geothermal energy; or (10) fusion energy
8 SECTION 3. Section 1 of chapter 164 of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2020 
9Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following after the definition of “FERC”:-
10 “Fusion energy”, energy generated when nuclei from light atoms, such as hydrogen, 
11combine to form a single heavier one, such as helium.  2 of 2
12 SECTION 4. Said section 1 of chapter 164, is hereby further amended by inserting after 
13the word “hydroelectric” in line 286 the following words:- ; fusion energy
