SENATE, February 26, 2024.
The committee on Senate Ways and Means to whom was referred the Senate Bill 
authorizing the continued employment of Jerry Shampang as an environmental police officer in 
the executive office of energy and environmental affairs (Senate, No. 2464), - reports, 
recommending that the same ought to pass with an amendment substituting a new draft with the 
same title (Senate, No. 2691).

An Act authorizing the continued employment of Jerry Shampang as an environmental police 
officer in the executive office of energy and environmental affairs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Jerry 
2Shampang, an environmental police officer in the executive office of energy and environmental 
3affairs, may continue to serve in that position until he reaches 70 years of age or the date of his 
4retirement or non-reappointment, whichever occurs first. No further deductions shall be made 
5from the regular compensation of Jerry Shampang under chapter 32 of the General Laws for any 
6service performed subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 and, upon retirement, Jerry 
7Shampang shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to the allowance to which 
8he would have been entitled had he retired upon reaching the age of 65.
9 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
