1212 An Act authorizing the town of Tewksbury to use a certain parcel of land for general recreational
1313 purposes.
1414 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
1515 authorize forthwith the change of use a certain parcel of land in the town of Tewksbury,
1616 therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation
1717 of the public convenience.
1818 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
1919 of the same, as follows:
2020 1 SECTION 1. (a) Section 1 of chapter 314 of the acts of 1993 is hereby amended by
2121 2striking out, in line 6, the words “the expansion of the town of Tewksbury baseball facilities” and
2222 3inserting in place thereof the following words:- general recreational purposes including, but not
2323 4limited to, Tewksbury baseball facilities and other active and passive recreational activities.
2424 5 (b) Notwithstanding sections 32 to 37, inclusive, of chapter 7C of the General Laws,
2525 6section 2 of chapter 314 of the acts of 1993 or any other general or special law to the contrary,
2626 7the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance may amend the restriction in a
2727 8deed recorded in the Middlesex northern district registry of deeds in book 10054, page 109 to
2828 9allow the parcel of land described therein to be used for general recreational purposes. 2 of 2
2929 10 (c) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Tewksbury
3030 11shall be responsible for all costs and expenses of any transaction authorized in this act as
3131 12determined by the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance including, but not
3232 13limited to, the costs of any recording fees or deed preparation.
