Chan for legislation further regulating the training of certain employees of long term care 
facilities who provides nursing care. Public Health.

An Act relative to creating accessible CNA training.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 72W of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 
2Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding after “The commissioner after consultation with 
3the secretary of elder affairs and the board of registration shall establish standards for the training 
4of nurses' aides which shall include a minimum of sixty hours of training;” the following: 
5“provided that such training shall be delivered in languages other than English, including, but not 
6limited to, Spanish, Chinese and Haitian Creole; provided further that the department shall 
7determine in which languages the training shall be offered.”
