2626 An Act relative to prescription eyewear.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, any licensed physician or
3030 2registered optometrist registered to issue written prescriptions in the Commonwealth who are
3131 3issuing a prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, shall include the patient’s pupillary
3232 4distance on the script. No additional fees may be imposed for including such information on the
3333 5script. The board of registration in optometry shall issue promulgations to carry out the
3434 6requirements of this section.
