Public Safety and Homeland Security. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to accurate firearms records. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, the executive 2office of public safety and security shall develop and implement a system to audit firearms 3registration records periodically to identify and remove individuals who are deceased or no 4longer residents of the commonwealth. 5 SECTION 2. The executive office of public safety and security shall develop a system for 6generating and sending a list of registered firearms to owners on an annual basis. The list shall 7include the firearm serial number, the registered owner’s information, and any other relevant 8registration details. Owners shall be required to review this list and provide a response 9confirming the accuracy of the information.
