31 | 31 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
32 | 32 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
33 | 33 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other |
---|
34 | 34 | | 2general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts teachers’ retirement board shall credit |
---|
35 | 35 | | 3Lynn Turner, a member of the Massachusetts teachers’ retirement system, with creditable service |
---|
36 | 36 | | 4for the service she rendered as a teacher at the Horace Mann Public Charter School in the town |
---|
37 | 37 | | 5of Barnstable from November 30, 2009 to June 30, 2010 for the purpose of determining her |
---|
38 | 38 | | 6superannuation retirement allowance under subsection (a) of paragraph (2) of section 5 of said |
---|
39 | 39 | | 7chapter 32. Before the date that any retirement allowance becomes effective in the case of Lynn |
---|
40 | 40 | | 8Turner, she shall pay into the annuity savings fund of the Massachusetts teachers’ retirement |
---|
41 | 41 | | 9system, in 1 sum or installments, upon such terms and conditions as the Massachusetts teachers’ |
---|
42 | 42 | | 10retirement system may prescribe, an amount equal to that which would have been withheld as 2 of 2 |
---|
43 | 43 | | 11regular deductions from her regular compensation for such previous service, together with |
---|
44 | 44 | | 12buyback interest, as defined in section 1 of said chapter 32. This act shall not affect any other |
---|
45 | 45 | | 13retirement benefits that Lynn Turner may otherwise be entitled to. |

46 | 46 | | 14 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
