An Act relative to the enhancement of child safety.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 16A of chapter 101 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official 
2Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following words:- 
3 A violation of this paragraph shall be considered a civil motor vehicle infraction, and 
4shall be punishable by a fine of $50 issued by any police officer with the authority to issue 
5citations pursuant to chapter 90C.
6 An annual motor vehicle maintenance inspection pursuant to section 7A of chapter 90 for 
7a motor vehicle used for selling frozen desserts pursuant to this section shall include an 
8inspection of the flashing amber dome light and front and rear warning lights as required by this  2 of 2
9section; and a failure to have such operational lights shall result in a failed motor vehicle 
10inspection.
