James Arciero and others for an investigation by a special commission (including members of 
the General Court) relative to the feasibility of establishing a veterans' hall of fame. Veterans 
and Federal Affairs.

An Act relative to a Veterans' Hall of Fame Commission.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1      Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the 
2contrary, there shall be a veteran's hall of fame commission to study the feasibility of 
3establishing a veterans' hall of fame in the Commonwealth. The commission shall consist of 11 
4members, who shall be speaker of the house or their designee and the president of the senate or 
5their designee, who shall serve as co-chairs of the commission; the minority leaders of the house 
6and senate or their designees; the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on veterans and 
7federal affairs or their designees; the adjutant general of the national guard or their designee; the 
8secretary of veterans' services or their designee; a designee of the secretary of state who is 
9employed in the state archives who is knowledgeable about military records; and two persons to 
10be appointed by the governor who shall be honorably-discharged veterans. Members shall serve 
11without compensation but may receive such funding from the department of veterans' services to 
12fulfill their study and review of establishing a veteran's hall of fame.  2 of 2
13 SECTION 2      The commission shall review and analyze the feasibility of, and costs 
14associated with, the establishment of a veterans' hall of fame in the commonwealth and shall 
15study reasonable methods and criteria that may be utilized for nominating and inducting veterans 
16who are residents of the commonwealth into said hall of fame. 
17 SECTION 3     The commission shall submit its findings and recommendations with the 
18clerks of the house of representatives and senate.by December 31, 2026.
