| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 1 (a) The department of public health shall study mold and mold spores in multi-unit |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2dwellings in the commonwealth. The study shall include, but not be limited to: (i) the possibility |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3of completely eliminating mold and mold spores in multi-unit dwellings; (ii) focusing on the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4cause and presence of excess moisture that allows mold to grow in multi-unit dwellings; and (iii) |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5analysis of other states and their laws that establishes standards on what amount or type of mold |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6is dangerous. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7 (b) The department shall hold at least 1 public hearing as part of its study. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8 (c) The department shall submit a report detailing the results of the study, along with |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9recommendations and any proposed standards and legislation necessary to carry out its |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 10recommendations, to the: (i) the joint committee on public health; (ii) the house and senate |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 11committees on ways and means; and (iii) clerks of the house of representatives and senate not |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 12later than December 31, 2026. |
|---|
