28 | 28 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

30 | 30 | | 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary: |

31 | 31 | | 2 The attorney general shall have the jurisdiction to pursue civil action against a company |
---|
32 | 32 | | 3or individual who violates the civil rights of Massachusetts citizen whose rights were violated in |
---|
33 | 33 | | 4another state if the consumer activity involved the use of Massachusetts wages or banks or if a |
---|
34 | 34 | | 5consumer agreement was breached causing the Massachusetts resident to suffer damages. |

35 | 35 | | 6 The statute of limitations for said consumer or civil rights violation shall be tolled while |
---|
36 | 36 | | 7the plaintiff or defendant is outside the state where the violation took place. |
