2626 An Act requiring AEDs in clubs and fraternal organizations.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. (a) Any group organized under Chapter 180 of the General Laws shall
3030 2provide and maintain at least 1 fully functional automated external defibrillator, also known as
3131 3AED, for emergency use.
3232 4 (b) Any group or organization that is required to provide and maintain an AED pursuant
3333 5to subsection (a) shall provide mandatory training in accordance with the standards established
3434 6by the American Heart Association or the American National Red Cross on cardiopulmonary
3535 7resuscitation and the use of AEDs to: all organizational staff; all members of the organization;
3636 8any other individuals as determined by the leadership of the organization.
3737 9 SECTION 2. There shall be a fund, subject to appropriation, established to assist any
3838 10group required by subsection (a) to provide an AED with procurement, maintenance, and
3939 11training necessary under Section 1.
