[SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION SEE SENATE, NO. 2490 OF 2023-2024.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to retirement benefits for Thomas Chiocca. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the 2contrary, Thomas Chiocca shall be deemed eligible for the alternative superannuation retirement 3benefit enacted by Section 2 of Chapter 114 of the Acts of 2000, known as Retirement Plus, so 4called, provided that the member pays into said retirement system an amount that is 5commensurate with what he would have paid under retirement plus, minus the contributions that 6the member has already paid into the retirement system for said period, plus regular interest; and 7provided further, that the Board shall then recalculate Thomas Chiocca's superannuation 8retirement allowance using the formula for said alternative superannuation retirement benefit, 9and he shall then be deemed entitled to said alternative superannuation retirement benefit 10retroactively to the date of his superannuation retirement. 2 of 2 11 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
