| 26 | 26 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

| 27 | 27 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 28 | 28 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 46 of Chapter 161A of the General Laws is hereby amended by |

| 29 | 29 | | 2inserting at the beginning the following:- “ (a)” |

| 30 | 30 | | 3 SECTION 2. Section 46 of Chapter 161A of the General Laws is hereby amended by |

| 31 | 31 | | 4inserting the following:- |

| 32 | 32 | | 5 “(b) All parking lots or garages located at Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority |

| 33 | 33 | | 6commuter rail stations shall be free of charge to commuters for a period of no longer than 24 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7hours. Any vehicle occupying a parking space for a duration longer than 24 hours shall be |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 8subject to charges of twenty dollars per day. Any commuter rail station also providing rapid |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 9transit service shall be exempt from this section”. |
