2727 An Act relative to educator license accountability.
2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2929 of the same, as follows:
3030 1 SECTION 1. Section 38G of Chapter 71 as appearing in the 2022 official edition is
3131 2hereby amended by striking in line 21 by striking the words:-“of employment”
3232 3 SECTION 2. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by striking in line 28 by
3333 4striking the words:-“of employment”
3434 5 SECTION 3. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by inserting at the end
3535 6thereof the following paragraphs:
3636 7 Each school district shall submit to the department of elementary and secondary
3737 8education with any Standard license application within ninety [90] days of application or at the
3838 9time of renewal supporting documents including but not limited to, professional development
3939 10plans, professional development points, and a digital signature from the supervisor attesting that 2 of 2
4040 11reported activities are consistent with the Individual Professional Development Plan and
4141 12recommending the granting or renewal of a license.
4242 13 Any educator who has been found to not be properly licensed shall be prohibited from
4343 14accruing credible service time during the period of non-licensure.
4444 15 The department of elementary and secondary education shall at its discretion conduct
4545 16audits of school districts to ensure proper licensure”.
