[SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION SEE SENATE DOCKET, NO. 3011 OF 2023-2024.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court (2025-2026) _______________ An Act relative to educator license accountability. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 38G of Chapter 71 as appearing in the 2022 official edition is 2hereby amended by striking in line 21 by striking the words:-“of employment” 3 SECTION 2. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by striking in line 28 by 4striking the words:-“of employment” 5 SECTION 3. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by inserting at the end 6thereof the following paragraphs: 7 Each school district shall submit to the department of elementary and secondary 8education with any Standard license application within ninety [90] days of application or at the 9time of renewal supporting documents including but not limited to, professional development 10plans, professional development points, and a digital signature from the supervisor attesting that 2 of 2 11reported activities are consistent with the Individual Professional Development Plan and 12recommending the granting or renewal of a license. 13 Any educator who has been found to not be properly licensed shall be prohibited from 14accruing credible service time during the period of non-licensure. 15 The department of elementary and secondary education shall at its discretion conduct 16audits of school districts to ensure proper licensure”.
