An Act relative to educator license accountability.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 38G of Chapter 71 as appearing in the 2022 official edition is
2hereby amended by striking in line 21 by striking the words:-“of employment”
3 SECTION 2. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by striking in line 28 by
4striking the words:-“of employment”
5 SECTION 3. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by inserting at the end
6thereof the following paragraphs:
7 Each school district shall submit to the department of elementary and secondary
8education with any Standard license application within ninety [90] days of application or at the
9time of renewal supporting documents including but not limited to, professional development
10plans, professional development points, and a digital signature from the supervisor attesting that 2 of 2
11reported activities are consistent with the Individual Professional Development Plan and
12recommending the granting or renewal of a license.
13 Any educator who has been found to not be properly licensed shall be prohibited from
14accruing credible service time during the period of non-licensure.
15 The department of elementary and secondary education shall at its discretion conduct
16audits of school districts to ensure proper licensure”.
