37	30		SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 11

44	37		(a) The president of the county board is entitled to receive [$10,000] $20,000 15
45		-	$17,000 annually as compensation, the vice president is entitled to receive [$9,000] 16
46		-	$19,000 $16,000 annually as compensation, and, except for the student member, the other 17
47		-	board members are entitled to receive [$8,000] $18,000 $15,000 each annually as 18

	45	+	SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III, § 35 21
	46	+	of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary 22

	50	+	Anne Arundel County Board of Education while serving in a term of office beginning before 1
	51	+	the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or 2
	52	+	compensation of the president, vice president, members, and student member of the Anne 3
	53	+	Arundel County Board of Education shall take effect at the beginning of the next following 4
	54	+	term of office. This limitation does not apply to an individual appointed or elected after the 5
	55	+	effective date of this Act to fill out an unexpired term. 6
