26 | 26 | | SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 8 |

29 | 29 | | (a) There is a Task Force on Traffic Patterns and Infrastructure on MD Route 45 10 |

32 | 32 | | (b) The Task Force consists of the following members: 12 |

34 | 34 | | (1) one representative of the Towson Chamber of Commerce, appointed by 13 |
---|
35 | 35 | | the President of the Towson Chamber of Commerce; 14 |
---|
36 | 36 | | |
---|
37 | 37 | | (2) one representative of the State Highway Administration, appointed by 15 |
---|
38 | 38 | | the Administrator of the State Highway Administration; and 16 |

---|
40 | 40 | | (3) the following members, appointed by the County Executive of Baltimore 17 |

66 | 66 | | (f) The Task Force shall study and make recommendations on: 10 |

68 | 68 | | (1) the traffic patterns and infrastructure on MD Route 45 (York Road), 11 |
---|
69 | 69 | | from the intersection of York Road and Fairmount Avenue to the intersection of York Road 12 |
---|
70 | 70 | | and Stevenson Lane, including all streets intersecting this section of York Road; 13 |
---|
71 | 71 | | |
---|
72 | 72 | | (2) the effects and advisability of restricting or removing street parking 14 |
---|
73 | 73 | | along the section of York Road specified under item (1) of this subsection; 15 |
---|
74 | 74 | | |
---|
75 | 75 | | (3) the feasibility and advisability of creating a bike lane and expanding 16 |
---|
76 | 76 | | sidewalk width for increased walkability along the section of York Road specified under 17 |
---|
77 | 77 | | item (1) of this subsection; and 18 |
---|
78 | 78 | | |
---|
79 | 79 | | (4) the effectiveness of current signage in encouraging motorists to utilize 19 |
---|
80 | 80 | | the MD Route 45 Bypass (Bosley Avenue) and potential ways of increasi ng sign 20 |
---|
81 | 81 | | effectiveness. 21 |

83 | 83 | | (g) On or before December 31, 2023, the Task Force shall report its findings and 22 |
---|
84 | 84 | | recommendations to the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee 23 |
---|
85 | 85 | | and the House Environment and Transportation Committee in accordance with § 2–1257 24 |
---|
86 | 86 | | of the State Government Article. 25 |
---|

---|
88 | 88 | | SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect June 26 |
---|
89 | 89 | | 1, 2022. It shall remain effective for a period of 1 year and 1 month and, at the end of June 27 |
---|
90 | 90 | | 30, 2023, this Act, with no further action required by the General Assembly, shall be 28 |
---|
91 | 91 | | abrogated and of no further force and effect. 29 |
---|

---|
