19- (a) There is a Commission on Veterans and Military Families.

21- (b) The Commission consists of the following members:

76- (c) The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, or the Secretary’s designee, shall serve as

79- (d) The Department of Veterans Affairs shall provide staff for the Commission.

94- (2) while forming the recommendations and drafting the study required
95-under item (1) of this subsection, consult with the Office of Military and Federal Affairs

100+ (d) The Department of Veterans Affairs shall provide staff for the Commission. 1

101-those of other states in order to assess the quality of life for veterans and military families
102-in Maryland relative to other states.

108- SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect June
109-1, 2024. It shall remain effective for a period of 1 year and 1 month and, at the end of June

111-abrogated and of no further force and effect.
