2030 Commission and altering the report date of the Commission; and generally 7
relating to funding and staffing requirements for the Schaefer Center for Public 8

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 1
That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: 2

BEGINNING IN FISCAL Y EAR 2025 FOR EACH OF FISCAL YEARS 2025 THROUGH 5
2027, THE GOVERNOR SHALL INCLUD E IN THE ANNUAL BUDG ET BILL AN 6
APPROPRIATION OF $1,900,000 $1,500,000 TO THE SCHAEFER CENTER FOR 7
PUBLIC POLICY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE. 8
Chapter 168 of the Acts of 2023 9
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That: 10
(a) (1) There is an Apprenticeship 2030 Commission. 11
(d) The SCHAEFER CENTER FOR PUBLIC POLICY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF 12
BALTIMORE, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE Department of Legislative Services, AND 13
with the assistance of staff from the State agencies represented on the Commission, shall 14
provide staff for the Commission. 15
(g) On or before December 1, [2023] 2024, the Commission shall report its 16
findings and recommendations to the Governor and, in accordance with § 2–1257 of the 17
State Government Article, the General Assembly. 18
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 19
1, 2024. 20
