2727 (a) There is a Frederick County School Construction Master Plan Workgroup. 8

2929 (b) The Workgroup consists of the following members: 9

3131 (1) two members of the Senate of Maryland, appointed by the President of 10
3232 the Senate, based on the recommendation of the chair of the Frederick County Delegation; 11

3434 (2) two members of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of 12
3535 the House, based on the recommendation of the chair of the Frederick County Delegation; 13

3737 (3) the County Executive of Frederick County, or the County Executive’s 14

6565 (1) comprehensively evaluate all school facility needs in the Frederick 9

6868 (2) explore and evaluate solutions to balance the fiscal demands of the 11
6969 educational needs of Frederick County school construction priorities; and 12

7171 (3) consider cost saving or cost sharing opportunities for Frederick County 13

7676 (ii) maintain existing buildings; or 16

7878 (iii) renovations to aging schools to better meet educational needs. 17

8080 (g) On or before December 31, 2024, the Workgroup shall report its findings and 18
8181 recommendations to the County Executive of Frederick County, the Frederick County 19
8282 Council, the Frederick County Board of Education, the Interagency Commission on School 20
8383 Construction, and, in accordance with § 2–1257 of the State Government Article, the 21
8484 Frederick County House and Senate Delegations. 22

8686 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect June 23
8787 1, 2024. It shall remain effective for a period of 1 year and 1 month and, at the end of June 24
8888 30, 2025, this Act, with no further action required by the General Assembly, shall be 25
8989 abrogated and of no further force and effect. 26
