39+ WHEREAS, As a result of an open, transparent, and comprehensive planning 18
40+process, NextEra Energy Transmission MidAtlantic, Inc., through certain affiliates, has 19
41+been designated by PJM Interconnection, LLC, the regional elec tric transmission 20
42+organization for Maryland, to construct an overhead transmission line to address and 21
43+resolve certain reliability issues impacting the electric transmission system serving the 22
44+State’s and surrounding region’s electric customers; and 23

46+ WHEREAS, Before beginning construction of an overhead transmission line, 24
47+NextEra Energy Transmission MidAtlantic, Inc., must first obtain a certificate of public 25
