55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. [415.20] MUNICIPAL IDS; LIMITATION.​
77 1.7 Subdivision 1.Definitions.(a) For the purposes of this section, the following terms have​
88 1.8the meanings given.​
99 1.9 (b) "Municipal ID" means a photographic identification card in physical or electronic​
1010 1.10form created and provided by a municipality to a resident of the municipality that includes​
1111 1.11the individual's name, date of birth, residential address, and any other identifying information​
1212 1.12as required or authorized by the municipal ordinance.​
1313 1.13 (c) "Municipality" means a statutory or home rule charter city.​
1414 1.14 (d) "Resident" means a person who resides within the municipality's corporate boundaries​
1515 1.15for a minimum of 30 continuous days immediately prior to application for a municipal ID​
1616 1.16and who submits documentation demonstrating identity and residency as required in this​
1717 1.17section.​
1818 1.18 Subd. 2.Municipal ID; acceptance limited.Notwithstanding any law or rule to the​
1919 1.19contrary, a municipal ID does not qualify as proof of identification required for the receipt​
2020 1.20of one or more services provided by the state or through a federal program administered by​
2121 1.21the state or a political subdivision thereof.​
2222 1.22 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
