1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to commerce; regulating homeowner's insurance advertisements; proposing
1.3 coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 72A.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. [72A.329] HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE ADVERTISING.
1.6 An insurance company licensed to do business in Minnesota that offers homeowner's
1.7insurance coverage, as defined by section 65A.27, must include the following information
1.8in print, televised, electronic, and radio advertisements:
1.9 (1) the total amount the insurance company spent on advertising and marketing during
1.10the previous calendar year; and
1.11 (2) if the insurance company is publicly traded, the increase or decrease in the insurance
1.12company's stock prices for the previous calendar year.
