66 1.6BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
77 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 174.03, is amended by adding a subdivision​
88 1.8to read:​
99 1.9 Subd. 13.Interstate Highway 94; lane reduction, boulevard, or land bridge option​
1010 1.10prohibited.(a) The commissioner of transportation must not reduce, close, or remove any​
1111 1.11travel lanes designed for vehicular travel on marked Interstate Highway 94 between the​
1212 1.12cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.​
1313 1.13 (b) The commissioner must not expend any funds to study, analyze, promote, review,​
1414 1.14consult, or propose a boulevard or land bridge design for marked Interstate Highway 94. If​
1515 1.15the commissioner determines that a redesign or modification of marked Interstate Highway​
1616 1.1694 is necessary, the commissioner is prohibited from adopting a boulevard or land bridge​
1717 1.17design for that purpose.​
1818 1.18 (c) This section does not apply to lane reductions or closures necessary for resurfacing,​
1919 1.19reconstruction, or maintenance of marked Interstate Highway 94 or reconstruction of the​
2020 1.20highway for emergency purposes.​
2121 1.21 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
