| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 245.50, subdivision 3, is amended to read: |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subd. 3.Exceptions.A contract may not be entered into under this section for services |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9 (1) are serving a sentence after conviction of a criminal offense; |

| 10 | 10 | | 1.10 (2) are on probation or parole; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11 (3) are the subject of a presentence investigation; or |

| 12 | 12 | | 1.12 (4) (3) have been committed involuntarily in Minnesota under chapter 253B for treatment |

| 13 | 13 | | 1.13of mental illness or chemical dependency, except as provided under subdivision 5. |

| 16 | 16 | | 1.16 Subd. 6.Contract notice.A Minnesota mental health, chemical health, or detoxification |

| 17 | 17 | | 1.17agency or facility entering into a contract with a bordering state under this section must, |

| 18 | 18 | | 1.18within 30 days of the contract's effective date, provide the commissioner of human services |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 1.19with a copy of the contract. If the contract is amended, the agency or facility must provide |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 1.20the commissioner with a copy of each amendment within 30 days of the amendment's |
|---|
