APPROPRIATIONS; EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP GRANTS. 1.6 Subdivision 1.Department of Education.The sums indicated in this section are 1.7appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education for the fiscal years 1.8designated. 1.9 Subd. 2.Neighborhood partnership grants.(a) For neighborhood partnership grants 1.10under Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.99: 2026.....2,600,0001.11 $ 2027.....2,600,0001.12 $ 1.13 (b) Of the amounts in paragraph (a), $1,300,000 each year is for the Northside 1.14Achievement Zone and $1,300,000 each year is for the St. Paul Promise Neighborhood. 1.15 (c) The base for fiscal year 2028 and later is $2,600,000. The commissioner of 3.6education must review proposals and award grants to programs that primarily serve 3.7historically underserved students. To the extent practicable, the commissioner must award 3.8grants equitably among the geographic areas of Minnesota, including rural, suburban, and 3.9urban communities. The submitted proposal for an emerging partnership grant must include 3.10evidence of: (1) readiness to pursue the activities required of an established partnership; 3.11and (2) adding geographic or demographic diversity to the education partnerships network. 3.12 (c) This is a onetime appropriation. 3Section 1.
