                            1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to education finance; authorizing a grant for Junior Achievement North​
1.3 for expansion of its student financial literacy activities; requiring reports;​
1.4 appropriating money.​
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; FINANCIAL LITERACY GRANT.​
1.7 Subdivision 1.Department of Education.The sums indicated in this section are​
1.8appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education in the fiscal years​
1.9designated.​
1.10 Subd. 2.Junior Achievement North.(a) For a grant to Junior Achievement North to​
1.11expand access to its financial literacy programming for elementary and secondary students:​

1.14 (b) The grant awarded under this section must be consistent with the procedures for​
1.15evidence-based education grants under Minnesota Statutes, section 127A.20.​
1.16 (c) Junior Achievement North must use the grant proceeds to expand the number of​
1.17students who participate in Junior Achievement North's financial literacy programs, career​
1.18readiness programs, and entrepreneurship programs with a focus on expanding opportunities​
1.19for underserved students. To the extent possible, programming must be provided in an​
1.20equitable manner to students in greater Minnesota.​
1.21 (d) In addition to other reporting requirements, and subject to Minnesota Statutes, section​
1.223.195, by February 1 of each year Junior Achievement North receives an appropriation,​

2.4of Junior Achievement North, including its most recent audit; a description of the financial​
2.5literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship programs offered during the year;​
2.6participation and demographic information about the students and schools served by the​
2.7program; and a description of partnerships with other financial literacy organizations.​
