55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. [168B.041] INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR TOWING VEHICLES.​
77 1.7 (a) For purposes of this section, "on-hook towing insurance" means liability insurance​
88 1.8for a vehicle or other conveyance while attached or connected to a tow truck.​
99 1.9 (b) The commissioner of public safety or the Minnesota State Patrol must not adopt any​
1010 1.10rule, regulation, order, or procedure that requires a towing service to carry a set amount of​
1111 1.11on-hook towing insurance for towed vehicles valued at less than $400,000.​
1212 1.12 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective retroactively from August 1, 2023, and​
1313 1.13applies to orders issued on or after that date.​
