55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; HOMETOWN HERO OUTDOORS.​
77 1.7 $250,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the​
88 1.8general fund to the commissioner of public safety to provide a grant to Hometown Hero​
99 1.9Outdoors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Stillwater, Minnesota, to fund outdoor​
1010 1.10recreational activities and mental health services for present and former law enforcement​
1111 1.11officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel to promote positive mental​
1212 1.12health and interactions with mental health service professionals; to promote longevity and​
1313 1.13quality of life through outdoor activities and mental health services, including public​
1414 1.14education; and to ensure the organization is able to continue supporting persons who are​
1515 1.15currently serving or have served in these professions.​
