1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to public safety; appropriating money for mental health services and 1.3 outdoor activities for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical 1.4 services personnel. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; HOMETOWN HERO OUTDOORS. 1.7 $250,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the 1.8general fund to the commissioner of public safety to provide a grant to Hometown Hero 1.9Outdoors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Stillwater, Minnesota, to fund outdoor 1.10recreational activities and mental health services for present and former law enforcement 1.11officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services personnel to promote positive mental 1.12health and interactions with mental health service professionals; to promote longevity and 1.13quality of life through outdoor activities and mental health services, including public 1.14education; and to ensure the organization is able to continue supporting persons who are 1.15currently serving or have served in these professions. 1Section 1.
