| 6 | 6 | | 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 3.98, subdivision 1, is amended to read: |

| 7 | 7 | | 1.7 Subdivision 1.Preparation; duties.(a) The head or chief administrative officer of each |

| 8 | 8 | | 1.8department or agency of the state government, including the supreme court, shall prepare |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1.9a fiscal note consistent with the standards and procedures adopted under section 3.8853, at |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1.10the request of the chair or ranking minority member of the standing committee to which a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1.11bill has been referred, or the chair or ranking minority member of the house of representatives |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1.12Ways and Means Committee, or the chair or ranking minority member of the senate |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 1.13Committee on Finance. |

| 14 | 14 | | 1.14 (b) For purposes of this subdivision, "supreme court" includes all agencies, committees, |

| 15 | 15 | | 1.15and commissions supervised or appointed by the state supreme court or the state court |

| 16 | 16 | | 1.16administrator. |

| 17 | 17 | | 1.17 Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 3.98, subdivision 3, is amended to read: |
