55 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
66 1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256B.0625, subdivision 22, is amended to​
77 1.7read:​
88 1.8 Subd. 22.Hospice care.(a) Medical assistance covers hospice care services under Public​
99 1.9Law 99-272, section 9505, to the extent authorized by rule, except that:​
1010 1.10 (1) a recipient age 21 or under who elects to receive hospice services does not waive​
1111 1.11coverage for services that are related to the treatment of the condition for which a diagnosis​
1212 1.12of terminal illness has been made.; and​
1313 1.13 (2) room and board expenses are covered for persons receiving hospice services in a​
1414 1.14community-based setting, to the extent room and board expenses are not otherwise covered​
1515 1.15under this chapter or chapter 256I.​
1616 1.16 (b) Hospice respite and end-of-life care under subdivision 22a are not hospice care​
1717 1.17services under this subdivision.​
