1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for reconstruction of the
1.3 interchange at Interstate 35 and County State-Aid Highway 50 in Dakota County;
1.4 authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. DAKOTA COUNTY; INTERSTATE 35 INTERCHANGE PROJECT.
1.7 Subdivision 1.Appropriation.$10,800,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
1.8fund to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to Dakota County, the city of Lakeville,
1.9or both, to reconstruct County State-Aid Highway 50 from Kenrick Avenue to Klamath
1.10Trail as part of the Interstate 35 interchange project to address corridor mobility and safety
1.11improvements. The appropriation may be used for preliminary and final design and to
1.12engineer, acquire right-of-way and temporary and permanent easements, inspect, construct,
1.13and reconstruct County State-Aid Highway 50 and other roads, including 175th Street, and
1.14Kenrick Avenue, multipurpose pedestrian and bicycle facilities, public utility relocation,
1.15and stormwater management. This appropriation is for the portion of the project that is
1.16eligible for use of proceeds of general obligation bonds.
1.17 Subd. 2.Bond sale.To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.18proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.19the state in an amount up to $10,800,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.20prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.21Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.22 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
