44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED.​
66 1.6 An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution is proposed to the people. If the amendment​
77 1.7is adopted, article V, section 2, will read:​
88 1.8 Sec. 2. The term of office for the governor and lieutenant governor is four years and​
99 1.9until a successor is chosen and qualified. Each shall have attained the age of 25 years and,​
1010 1.10shall have been a bona fide resident of the state for one year next preceding his election,​
1111 1.11and shall be a citizen of the United States. A person elected twice to the office of governor​
1212 1.12is no longer an eligible candidate for the office.​
1313 1.13 Sec. 2. SUBMISSION TO VOTERS.​
1414 1.14 (a) The proposed amendment must be submitted to the people at the 2026 general election.​
1515 1.15The question submitted must be:​
1616 1.16 "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to limit a governor to two terms?​
