44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION.​
66 1.6 (a) $850,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $850,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from​
77 1.7the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic​
88 1.8development for a grant to Better Futures Minnesota to provide job skills training to​
99 1.9individuals who have been released from incarceration for a felony-level offense and are​
1010 1.10no more than 12 months from the date of release.​
1111 1.11 (b) Better Futures Minnesota shall annually report to the commissioner on how the​
1212 1.12money was spent and what results were achieved. The report must include, at a minimum,​
1313 1.13information and data about the number of participants; participant homelessness, employment,​
1414 1.14recidivism, and child support compliance; and job skills training provided to program​
1515 1.15participants.​
