1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for job skills training for 1.3 recently released inmates; requiring reports. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION. 1.6 (a) $850,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $850,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from 1.7the workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic 1.8development for a grant to Better Futures Minnesota to provide job skills training to 1.9individuals who have been released from incarceration for a felony-level offense and are 1.10no more than 12 months from the date of release. 1.11 (b) Better Futures Minnesota shall annually report to the commissioner on how the 1.12money was spent and what results were achieved.
