1.1 A bill for an act
1.2 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a food bank facility in the
1.3 city of Duluth.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SECOND HARVEST NORTHLAND FOOD BANK.
1.6 $……. in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
1.7employment and economic development for a grant to Second Harvest Northland Food
1.8Bank to construct and renovate an expansion of a facility in the city of Duluth to serve as
1.9a food bank. This appropriation also includes money to purchase and install a new cooler
1.10and freezer system in the facility. This appropriation is available when the commissioner
1.11of management and budget determines that $……. of nonstate funds have been committed
1.12to complete the project. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the project is
1.13completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
1.14 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.
