1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to education finance; authorizing a grant for truancy crisis response; 1.3 appropriating money. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS. 1.6 Subdivision 1.Department of Education.The sums indicated in this section are 1.7appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education in the fiscal years 1.8designated. 1.9 Subd. 2.Truancy crisis response.(a) For a grant to Hennepin County Community 1.10Action Partners: 2026.....1,500,0001.11 $ 2027.....1,500,0001.12 $ 1.13 (b) The grant recipient must use grant money to respond to the needs of children age 1.14eight to 18 years old involved with truancy in Hennepin County. The grant recipient must 1.15create culturally welcoming and nurturing spaces for interventions to stop truancy by 1.16addressing the needs of African American youth who are involved in truancy and the child 1.17protection system.
