44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
55 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; THIEF RIVER FALLS HISTORIC SITES.​
66 1.6 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the art and cultural heritage fund to​
77 1.7the commissioner of administration for a grant to the city of Thief River Falls. Of this​
88 1.8amount, $750,000 is for HVAC work; roof repairs, including facia and gutter replacement;​
99 1.9and installing energy-efficient windows and doors in the historic Soo Line Depot. The​
1010 1.10remaining $250,000 is to repair the roof, replace the HVAC system, and install​
1111 1.11energy-efficient windows at the historic Carnegie Library. Both buildings are on the National​
1212 1.12Register of Historic Places and are owned by the city of Thief River Falls. All work must​
1313 1.13follow the standards outlined in the United States Secretary of Interior's Treatment of​
1414 1.14Historical Properties. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the projects are​
1515 1.15completed.​
