1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to arts and cultural resources; appropriating money to rehabilitate historic 1.3 sites in city of Thief River Falls. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; THIEF RIVER FALLS HISTORIC SITES. 1.6 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the art and cultural heritage fund to 1.7the commissioner of administration for a grant to the city of Thief River Falls. Of this 1.8amount, $750,000 is for HVAC work; roof repairs, including facia and gutter replacement; 1.9and installing energy-efficient windows and doors in the historic Soo Line Depot. The 1.10remaining $250,000 is to repair the roof, replace the HVAC system, and install 1.11energy-efficient windows at the historic Carnegie Library. Both buildings are on the National 1.12Register of Historic Places and are owned by the city of Thief River Falls. All work must 1.13follow the standards outlined in the United States Secretary of Interior's Treatment of 1.14Historical Properties.
