44 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​

77 1.7 (a) The commissioner of natural resources may not modify the public waters inventory​
88 1.8under Minnesota Statutes, section 103G.201, until July 1, 2027.​
99 1.9 (b) By January 15, 2027, the commissioner of natural resources, in consultation with​
1010 1.10counties, cities, townships, watershed districts, soil and water conservation districts, and​
1111 1.11other interested parties, must submit a report to the legislature on the public waters inventory​
1212 1.12modification process, including any necessary legislative changes, to ensure all modifications​
1313 1.13to the public waters inventory provide an opportunity for local government involvement​
1414 1.14and public comment.​
1515 1.15 EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment.​
