1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to children, youth, and families; appropriating money for a grant to 1.3 Community Mediation Minnesota to administer a statewide family mediation pilot 1.4 program. 1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; STATEWIDE FAMILY MEDIATION PILOT 1.7PROGRAM. 1.8 (a) $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the 1.9commissioner of children, youth, and families for a grant to Community Mediation Minnesota 1.10to administer a statewide family mediation pilot program to provide support to grandparents 1.11and families. This is a onetime appropriation. 1.12 (b) The grant money must be used to: 1.13 (1) provide family dispute resolution services; 1.14 (2) increase awareness of and access to family dispute resolution services statewide; 1.15 (3) provide alternative dispute resolution services, including but not limited to family 1.16reconnection coaching, mediation, and navigation services; 1.17 (4) partner with culturally specific dispute resolution programs to provide training and 1.18assistance with virtual and in-person mediation services; 1.19 (5) increase the number of mediators on the family mediator roster; 1.20 (6) increase competency of mediators on the family mediator roster; 1Section 1. 25-04938 as introduced03/18/25 REVISOR VH/NS SENATE STATE OF MINNESOTA S.F.
