1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article I, by adding a 1.3 section; providing for free, fair, and equal elections. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED. 1.6 An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution is proposed to the people. If the amendment 1.7is adopted, a section shall be added to article I, to read: 1.8 Sec. 18. Elections shall be free, fair, and equal. No civil or military power shall, at any 1.9time, interfere with the free exercise of the right to vote. 1.10 Sec. 2. SUBMISSION TO VOTERS. 1.11 (a) The proposed amendment must be submitted to the people at the 2026 general election. 1.12If ratified, the amendment is effective January 1, 2027.
