HCSHB2381--EMERGENCYMEDICALDISPATCHERS(Roden) COMMITTEEOFORIGIN:StandingCommitteeonPublicSafety Currently,anemergencymedicaldispatcherisrequiredtocomplete anemergencymedicaldispatchercoursemeetingorexceedingthe nationalcurriculumoftheUnitedStatesDepartmentof Transportation. Thisbillremovesthatrequirementandinstead requirestheemergencymedicaldispatchertocompleteacourse approvedbytheMissouri911ServiceBoardandcompleteanyongoing trainingrequiredundertherequirementsofthe911Trainingand StandardsAct.Thebillalsoadds"telecommunicator first responders"tothedefinitionoffirstresponders,andauthorizes eachpoliticalsubdivisiontoelecttocovertelecommunicator first respondersaspublicsafetypersonnelofthesystem.Training requirementsfortelecommunicators arespecifiedinthebill. Thebillrepealstheterm"emergencymedicaltechnician-basic", or"EMT-B",anditrepealstheterm"emergencymedicaltechnician- paramedic",or"EMT-P"andreplacesitwith"paramedic".
