558.031.1.Asentenceofimprisonmentshallcommencewhenapersonconvictedof
2anoffenseinthisstateisreceivedintothecustodyofthedepartmentofcorrectionsorother
3placeofconfinementwheretheoffenderissentenced.
4 2.Suchpersonshallreceivecredittowardtheserviceofasentenceofimprisonment
5foralltimeinprison,jailorcustodyafter[conviction] theoffenseoccurredandbeforethe
6commencementofthesentence,whenthetimeincustodywasrelatedtothatoffense[, and].
7Thiscreditshallbebaseduponthecertificationofthesheriffasprovidedinsubdivision
8(3)ofsubsection2ofsection217.305andmaybesupplementedbyacertificateofa
9sherifforothercustodialofficerfromanotherjurisdictionhavingheldthepersononthe
10chargeoftheoffenseforwhichthesentenceofimprisonmentisordered.Thecircuit
11courtmay,whenpronouncingsentence,awardadditionalcreditfortimespentinprison,jail,
12orcustodyaftertheoffenseoccurredandbefore[conviction] thecommencementofthe
13sentencetowardtheserviceofthesentenceofimprisonmentforthoseoffensesforwhich
14thepersonwasincarceratedbutforwhomnodetainerorwarrantwasserved, except:
15 (1)Suchcreditshallonlybeappliedoncewhensentencesareconsecutive;

22boththedatestheoffenderwasincustodyandtheperiodoftimetobecreditedtowardthe
23serviceofthesentenceofimprisonment,exceptasendorsedbysuchofficer.
24 4.Ifapersonconvictedofanoffenseescapesfromcustody,suchescapeshall
25interruptthesentence.Theinterruptionshallcontinueuntilsuchpersonisreturnedtothe
26correctionalcenterwherethesentencewasbeingserved,orinthecaseofapersoncommitted
27tothecustodyofthedepartmentofcorrections,toanycorrectionalcenteroperatedbythe
28departmentofcorrections.Anescapeshallalsointerruptthejailtimecredittobeappliedtoa
29sentencewhichhadnotcommencedwhentheescapeoccurred.
30 5.Ifasentenceofimprisonmentisvacatedandanewsentenceimposeduponthe
31offenderforthatoffense,alltimeservedunderthevacatedsentenceshallbecreditedagainst
32thenewsentence,unlessthetimehasalreadybeencreditedtoanothersentenceasprovidedin
33subsection1ofthissection.
34 6.Ifapersonreleasedfromimprisonmentonparoleorservingaconditionalrelease
35termviolatesanyoftheconditionsofhisorherparoleorrelease,heorshemaybetreatedas
36aparoleviolator.Iftheparoleboardrevokestheparoleorconditionalrelease,theparoled
37personshallservetheremainderoftheprisontermandconditionalreleaseterm,asan
38additionalprisonterm,andtheconditionallyreleasedpersonshallservetheremainderofthe
39conditionalreleasetermasaprisonterm,unlessreleasedonparole.
40 7.Subsection2ofthissectionshallbeapplicabletooffenses[occurring] forwhich
